Diegetic- a sound that is in the world of the film and can be heard by the characters

Non-Diegetic- A sound that is added and isn't in the world of the characters and cant be heard by the characters and the audience can hear

Foley- recreation of everyday noises that are added to films

Voiceover- Narrations over a scene

Ambience- Background sound
